Have you thought about what would bring you comfort and happiness in your final weeks or months? Not necessarily something you need, but something that makes the time you have left really count. What would it be? A ride in a convertible? A weekend trip to your favorite spot? A meal at your favorite restaurant? Seeing a loved one who lives far away?
Or maybe you have basic needs that aren’t being met. At Hospice of Acadiana, we believe that hospice care goes far beyond the medical needs of our patients. We recognize that providing comfort care can be different for each individual. For example, we have provided groceries to patients in need and temporary housing for the homeless at end of life. We have renovated the living room of a patient who wanted to die at home but couldn’t because her home was deemed unsafe. We've even allowed a young lady with down syndrome to experience one last Christmas—complete with snow, Santa Clause, and presents. Mission Moments speaks to the essence of who Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. is as an organization.
